Van Der Garde to make FF1M debut.

FF2M championship contender and FJR test driver Giedo van der Garde will race for FJR from the Singapore Grand Prix until the end of the season, replacing Esteban Gutiérrez.

It comes after an impressive FF2M campaign where the Dutchman scored four wins and over 80% of STV Racing’s points haul having had a very comfortable edge in the races over teammate Jolyon Palmer. He finished 3rd in the championship behind new FF2M champion Karun Chandhok and Kevin Magnussen having taken the fight all the way to the final meeting at Monza.

Despite being demoted, Gutiérrez will participate in the remaining practice sessions to help develop next season’s FJR. The Mexican has had a difficult season with an unreliable FJR having retired from nine races and generally struggling against outgoing champion Lewis Hamilton, who has had a similarly torrid season with the Yorkshire team.
