Tornado replace DC with Mansell for Adelaide

Tornado Motorsport today confirmed their intention to replace David Coulthard with Nigel Mansell following a couple of “rookie errors” from the young Scotsman.

“DC” as he is affectionately known in the team has struggled to match the pace of team mate Eddie Irvine who won the Pacific Grand Prix earlier in the season. Whilst Coulthard has improved his pace in recent races he also made notable mistakes in both the Italian, European and Japanese Grands Prix.

41 year old Mansell, who won the Spanish Grand Prix earlier in the season, said that he was looking forward to re-establishing himself after feeling that he was unfairly dismissed by FJR.

The news comes as the AFIA confirmed no action will be taken in the contact between Gojira’s Erik Comas and Tornado’s Eddie Irvine during the Japanese Grand Prix with the stewards classing the coming together as a “racing incident”.
