Monolith Racing System will become a manufacturer team next season as they announced they will run their own developed “Playlife” engines in 2019.
AFIA technical delegate Quentin Llewellyn confirmed that “This was the second season that Monolith have expressed an interest in becoming a manufacturer team and we felt the time was right to add another manufacturer at this time.”
In addition Llewellyn confirmed that “despite speculation to the contrary whilst Ajay Motorsports will not enter FF1M as a team next season they will continue to operate Hart engines in 2019 as a solely customer concern”
The addition of a sixth manufacturer alongside Climax, Hart, Judd, Megatron and Mugen will mean that each will be limited to just a single customer team in the 2019 season with teams and manufacturers able to set their team preferences shortly.
