Finland’s Valterri Bottas will remain with GR Motorsport in 2017 it was revealed today.
GRM boss George Roke confirmed the news in front of a meagre turnout of journalists at the team’s headquarters who all expected the news anyway.
Roke has shown himself remarkably resistant to change during his team’s FF1M career, with 2016 pairing Bottas and Spaniard Carlos Sainz currently in their third campaign together and nobody is taking bets on whether Sainz will also be retained in the second round of the draft.
GRM and Bottas endured a tricky start to the season following their switch to Megatron engines, but recent performances for the Finnish favourite have been more favourable, at least in qualifying, whilst he will be hoping to end the season with better luck after being taken out of a promising position at Monza, twice.
