CBA Racing joins Willows at Judd for 2018

CBA Racing will swap Megatron for Judd in 2018 it was announced today during a press conference at the Judd Engine Development (JED) headquarters in Rugby.

The news was announced by Percival Brackenbury MBE (Many Broken Engines) – Head of JED who stated “According to the current championship standings, we now have scope for two customers, and with two additional teams pencilled in for 2018, we were always optimistic that we could supply another team, and as before, they will have as much race ERS as they like.”

The move is not entirely unexpected given the familial relationships between CBA and Judd’s manufacturer team FJR. CBA Racing had inherited the Megatron power when they took over the team from Exolite.

The Willows Racing team will also remain under Judd power in 2018 despite a tough season at the back of the field.

“Before the season began, we were delighted to welcome our first ever customer in Judd’s engine programme in the form of Willows Racing and look forward to continuing this partnership.” Brackenbury said. “As the season has gone along however, I suspect he has been rather disappointed as our engine is both not as ICE-y as the Megatron, not as ERS-y as the Climax, and not the most CE-y either.”

“The last race however was very encouraging” Brackenbury continued. “With three of our engines scoring points. We just need to iron out Stoffel Vandoorne’s issues which we have now traced down to a series of faulty crystal balls and tarot cards in the design office. We now have a fresh stock of these from eBay along with a wizard’s hat and gown from Vinted, so big thank you’s to Cassius the Corduroy Knight from eBay and Matilda Mugglethorpe from Vinted for supplying Judd with some good fortune I hope, otherwise I’ll be sending them only three-star reviews.”

With Judd’s supply chain issues sorted… “It’s therefore realistic to aim for more stable development during 2018, but I feel as if we have to stay as aggressive as we can in order to keep up with Megatron and Climax, and if this leads to my MBE being upgraded to an OBE (Obviously Buggered Engines), and then eventually a CBE (Completely Bollocks’d Engines) then so be it.”
