The series’ freshest team on the grid have expanded their FFeM programme and will be making their FF1M debut alongside the big names and some of the other newer entrants. In preparation for their debut, team boss Rosetta Martinez sat with lead commentator James Brickles to have a little chat.
JB: Good to see you in the FF1M grid next season. What are your main goals for the season?
RM: My first goal is to fight for points, then to finish in the midfield for the season.
JB: You’ve chosen Robert Kubica and Carlos Sainz to drive for you, a mix of experience and enthusiasm. How do you envision their partnership to evolve?
RM: I do need to kick start my FF1M career as a team owner to bring in experience and give insight into how to build a car, the set-ups, and the environment to set us up in the future.
JB: Your GGP-18 chassis will be powered by the Megatron engine, which last season showed a lot of natural power, but wasn’t the most reliable. Would you prefer Megatron to concentrate on reliability, power, or their ERS system?
RM: Megatron may be one of the more unreliable engines, but I still do have faith in them to build the base for our operations for the team to give ourselves a chance to compete.
JB: As you are now in two FF series, are there plans to expand into FF2M, maybe some young drivers you have your eye on in FF3M and FF4M?
RM: Since we’re in the top series, I did have some people who would be interested in joining as a starting point for their FF1M careers as we and the drivers are growing ourselves to get better each season.
JB: Any early predictions for the 2018 championships?
RM: I do hope that Tornado and Shake ‘n’ Bake will have a good fight like last season.
