Road America returns to FF1M Calendar

The AFIA have today confirmed the 2014 FF1M Calendar and have filled in some of the gaps left when the draft calendar was unveiled some months ago.

The biggest news is that the United States Grand Prix will once again move circuits, returning to the Road America facility in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin which hosted the United States Grand Prix (East) in 2012. The race has also been moved from its draft October date to the date previously allocated to the Canadian Grand Prix which moves back a week, with the series now taking a three week road trip through North America with the Mexican, United States and Canadian Grand Prix on consecutive weekends.

As a result of this change, the British Grand Prix has moved back by week and will now run back to back with the German Grand Prix, whilst the Austrian race will also move back a week to run back to back with the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In other news the European Grand Prix venue has been confirmed as the Nurburgring, and will now be the fourth round of the championship on 27th April, two weeks before the Portuguese Grand Prix which has moved back a week to the 11th May.
