Exolite aims to pop some corks with Chandon in 2016

Argentine wine brand Chandon has become the official title partner of the Exolite team.

The “long term” agreement was signed yesterday at the Exolite Development Centre in Yorkshire, England, by the CEO of Moët Hennessy, and James Whiteley, Exolite Team Principal and CEO, alongside Exolite driver Jensen Button.

“It is extremely exciting that Moët Hennessy has chosen to join with the Exolite team through Chandon to form a unique, long-term partnership”, said Whiteley. “The fit between Chandon and Exolite is a natural one with both sharing a passion to innovate in whatever we do, combined with a unique style and approach. It is a great privilege for everyone at Exolite to partner with Chandon, one of iconic brands in the prestigious Moët Hennessy portfolio.”

When asked where the idea for the partnership began, Whiteley was quick to dispel the notion that a cork had been required during his recent appearance providing colour commentary for the Monaco Grand Prix. The unsavoury incident had been remarked upon by both James Brickles and Courtney Cass during the broadcast, and Cass told reporters later on that “he was walking a bit funny when he returned to the booth”.

Whiteley closed the conference by issuing the statement that “You’ll all be popping your corks when you see Chandon Exolite Megatron’s explosive new livery in 2016.”
