Alfonsi replaces Kubica at Ajay Motorsports

Ajay Motorsports today announced that Robert Kubica has left the team, to be replaced by young Italian test driver Mattia Alfonsi.

“We want to thank Robert for his lending us his time and experience over opening half of the season. He has been a great help not only to the team but also a valuable resource to James” said Ajay Motorsports Head of Driver Development April March. “But with James improving all the time its time for us to reaffirm our commitment to giving young talent a chance. Mattia struggled last season with the pressure at Spaniel, and was left without a drive in FF2M. But we as a team know from working with Mattia previously that he is a capable driver with great potential and he has shown in testing that he is ready to show his worth”.

As part of the deal the logo’s of Alfonsi’s sponsors, Italian coffee brand Illy and Fashion chain Intimissimi, will appear on the car from today’s test in Zandvoort.
