FF2M’s Mason Taylor has been announced as CBA Racing’s test driver for the remainder of the season as the team looks to explore its driver options with the silly season approaching.
The Kiwi is currently enjoying a good season in FF2M with STV Racing having won the past two feature races including a stunning drive in Road America 13th on the grid, overtaking Chuck Bucknum on the final lap of the race. Taylor currently sits 2nd in the Driver’s Championship, 3 points behind Bucknum. As he was a free agent in the FF1M-sphere, he was free to join any team, although it was rumoured that FJR were looking to replace their tester Benjamin Pryor with Taylor and offload the Welshman to another team.
CBA currently sit 7th in the Constructor’s Championship with two podium finishes courtesy of Tomas Gonzalez. Their team boss hasn’t been particularly pleased with Kimi Raikkonen’s season so far with the Finn only amassing five points and crashing out at Road America having started from the front row. It is understood that CBA will be using the upcoming practice sessions to evaluate Taylor and judge whether he’ll be ready for an FF1M race seat.
