The AFIA today confirmed a six round calendar for the 2016-17 season of the FF2M Asia championship which is to be the final season of the off-season FF2M offshoot.
The 2016-17 FF2M Asia season will by begin supporting 2016 FF1M Grands Prix at Sepang, Suzuka and Sakhir before a standalone race at the Dubai Autodrome in December. The season will then conclude with a return trip to Sakhir supporting the 2017 Engine Manufacturer test on the circuit’s outer layout, before the season, and series, finale at Melbourne supporting the opening round of the 2017 FF1M Season.
AFIA head of junior single seaters Michael Bryan confirmed that the upcoming season would be FF2M Asia’s last, with the main FF2M series set to expand and move outside of Europe in future campaigns.
