Chilton hangs on for Sprint Race victory

Polesitter Max Chilton held on to take a first FF2M victory for Horizon F2 in today’s sprint race at Bahrain.

The British driver led from start to finish with only a brief threat by Felipe Nasr threatening his position at the start. Charles Pic came home second after Nasr suffered an Electrical problem and had to pit midway through the race whilst Nasr’s team mate Jerome D’ambrosio finished 3rd.

The main excitement of the race came at the first corner as GRM’s Davide Valsecchi hit Marcus Ericsson leading to a domino effect which left Jolyon Palmer out of the race and Valsecchi, Ericsson and the unfortunate Valterri Bottas pitting for repairs.

The teams now take a short break before heading to Sepang for the penultimate race of the Asia Pacific championship.
